VITSHOIS MWILAMBWE BONDO

Born in 1981. He lives and works in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo). After studying at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa and the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, Vitshois Mwilambwe Bondo completed his training at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Founder of the Kin Art Studio, he also took over the Young Congo project in 2017. He deals with the challenge of deconstructing images, with a particular focus on colonial representations. His work encompasses painting and collage, looking at multiple fractured identities and varied geographies, tackling all sorts of different areas of conflict and anachronisms. Recognized internationally, Vitshois Mwilambwe Bondo has won numerous awards and holds major collections and foundations.
